Doru Amariucai was born in Bucharest, Romania in 1960. He is a self educated photographer, and started as an amateur photographer when he was 15, upon receiving a Russian camera as a present for his birthday. His early “playing around” gradually transformed into a passion, little by little. In 1989 he quit his regular job, dedicating himself entirely to fashion and beauty photography. Today it is a full-time job with lots of professional and financial satisfaction. Doru says “I don’t think you can be a good photographer if you don’t love art, educating yourself everyday, watching movies, theather, paintings etc. A big gap between an amateur and a professional is the visual exercise you impose to yourself everyday.” Check out Doru’s work here.

Jason Christopher is a fashion photographer based in Los Angeles, California. Born in Southern California, he picked up his first camera at age 14 (a Canon AE-1). Bought with the money he saved from his paper route, Jason began photographing the beauty that surrounded him in his hometown of Westlake Village, California. In high school he took an interest in the beautiful Italian designers that he saw in fashion magazines such as Vogue, Italian Vogue, and W magazine. Being 100% Italian, it was love at first sight.
He then began to assist celebrity photographer Jerry Avenaim. It was during that period that Jason honed his technical skills in photography. What resonated with Jason the most in that experience, was how he learned to direct and communicate with his subjects. This dynamic combination of experience and connection reflects in all the images he creates today.
Jason and Jerry’s friendship continues as they remain close friends. Each having the great fortune to have found their profound passions in their craft.
